List of Activity Groups

Sign-ups are held at the September General Meeting, but you can join any group throughout the year by contacting the activity group leader and requesting to be added to their email list.

A Craftniche:

A crafting group exploring the art of beading, ceramic painting and anything else that strikes our fancy.

Afternoon Book Club:

Read the book, bring your lunch as well as your opinion of the book. We are a very welcoming group and would enjoy having you join our lively discussions.

Bunco:

Bunco is a simple dice game (it’s 100% chance; no strategy) that is played while the primary purpose of the gathering – sharing food and conversation transpires.

Catch-Up for Coffee:

Just a time for coffee and conversation with great women!

Cooking Club:

Monthly, specific dates to be determined lunchtime or evenings, depending on class. Enjoy learning to cook various types of dishes – from pizza to baked goods to Thai to Spanish tapas!

Culinary Caravan:

Members and their spouses/partners get together once a month on weekend evenings for dinner at restaurants in and around Aberdeen.

Catch Up for Dinner:

We get together about once a month during the week for an evening meal out in Aberdeen.

Discover Aberdeen:

Come join us as we discover new gems, or rediscover old ones, in and around Aberdeen.

Evening Book Club:

Read the book, bring your opinion and ideas of the book. We are a very welcoming group and would enjoy having you join our lively discussions.

Explorers:

This is our hiking group and we don’t mean a little stroll! Walks vary in length and degree of difficulty; 3-4 hrs and may involve some moderate hill climbing.

Golf:

Have fun with us as we play different courses in the country where the game began centuries ago.

Geocaching:

Geocaching is a real-life treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices.

Happy Hour:

Members and spouses/partners get together about once a month, typically on a Friday evening, for Happy Hour at a local bar or pub.

Indoor Climbing:

There is no required level of fitness or ability as each lady climbs at her own experience level and desire to challenge herself. It a great way to keep fit and challenge your brain with color coded holds!

Lunch Bunch:

Each month this group meets for lunch at different  restaurant locations around Aberdeen.  A great opportunity to meet members and make new friends, as well as experience the local cuisine.

Mah-jong:

Mah-jong is a game that originated in China and is played with tiles. It is a game of skill, strategy, scheming and a bit of luck! We are a friendly group and we play the North American way with National Mahjong League cards.

Moms & Tots:

Moms & Tots is a parent and infant/toddler group that meets weekly at kid-friendly venues in and around Aberdeen or at group members’ homes for playtime and light snacks. We also have a monthly “Moms’ Night Out!” where we meet for happy hour and dinner without the kiddos.

Scrap & Flap:

We welcome any newcomers who are interested in scrapbooking. Bring a lunch and I can supply a few nibbles.

Stitchin’ Chicks:

The Stitchin’ Chicks get together to sew, embroider, knit, quilt, crochet, cross-stitch or make lace. People bring along projects to finish or start new ones to learn a new skill.  We’re more than happy to help you learn.

Tennis:

We meet once a week and try to match people with the same level of tennis skills so we can have some nice games.

Tours and Trips:

This group leaves husbands and children behind for a ladies-only getaway within the UK or an exotic European destination.

Walkabouts:

This is a pretty casual group who just want to get out and walk/hike (not climb) for a couple of hours — usually 3-6 miles of easy-moderate walks. We then head off for lunch in a nearby pub or local funky restaurant near our walk location.
